Gerson Lehrman Group
Update: We have discontinued this series of entries. Click here for a complete explanation.
Have any of you tried selling your services through the Gerson Lehrman Group? The Gerson Lehrman Group provides complete consulting services to clients by deploying teams (or “councils“) of independent consultants who can tackle almost any issue imaginable. While there solutions can be very effective for clients, their software is so Byzantine that it can be very difficult to navigate it as a consultant.
I joined their banking council a few years ago when I worked for the Park Avenue Bank. Setting up a profile can be a challenge and I never was able to get any work through their network. Eventually I gave up and have found that it is much easier to get clients on my own. However, the Gerson Lehrman Group is very successful.
Gerson Lehrman has experienced tremendous growth over the last decade. They are valued at around $1 billion and have offices in every corner of the world. They also have access to a large number of consultants with a wide variety of experience, so they must be treating their consultants well. Could anyone comment on their experiences working with them? If so, did you find their platform easy to use?

Have you checked out Coleman Research Group (www.colemanrg.com)? This company is a direct competitor of GLG.

I recommend checking out Vista Research and their Society of Industry Leaders. I have found their processes much more seamless and their people much more responsive. You can find their websites below.
